Building Resilience: Disinformation and Literacy in an Age of Digital Transformation

Lie Detectors invites you to a webinar featuring Sandra Kalniete MEP,  Andreas Schleicher, OECD Director of Education and Skills and Juliane von Reppert-Bismarck exploring lessons and recommendations for building resilience to disinformation.

As Europe prepares strategies to tackle the online disinformation and conspiracy theories that threaten democracy and human health, Lie Detectors is hosting a webinar to explore lessons learned from the pandemic and present recommendations for action.

  • In opening remarks, Sandra Kalniete, MEP (EPP) and rapporteur of the INGE committee, will provide perspective on equipping Europe to resist foreign information interference.
     
  • Andreas Schleicher, OECD Director of Education and Skills, will present the OECD’s new report on the need for 21st century digital literacy skills
     
  • Juliane von Reppert-Bismarck, Executive Director of Lie Detectors, will present new findings on the rapid development of adult and child use of online data, on the effectiveness of media literacy training delivered by journalists, and on the role of teachers acting as multipliers in fighting fake news.

The audience will have the opportunity to hear findings and recommendations for concrete action, and to pose questions to the speakers.
